My 6 years old daughter made this soboro don - rice bowl topped with pork and egg today under my instruction. She loves this dish and often asks me to cook this. So I thought why not teach her how to cook !
Soboro is ground meat seasoned with 4 Japanese seasonings which are soy sauce, sugar, sake and mirin. Meat can be pork, beef, chicken or combination of those. The salty-sweet taste, with a hint of ginger, stimulates your appetizer, sometimes too much. In combination with iritamago - finely scrambled sweet egg, you can finish a big bowl of rice !
