I had a class with 6 guests plus 2 little ones from the US and Japan today. The main dish was sushi roll but I added nikujaga - braised beef and potatoes upon their request.
The class was a surprise gift from one of the husbands to his wife for their 1st wedding anniversary ! How sweet that is ! Also, it was a re-union for the three husbands after 3 years. I am honored that they chose TOKYO KITCHEN for such a happy occasion !
Decorative sushi roll requires a lot of steps but they all did great job on each step. Look at their creations ! Beautiful, aren't they. The little girl liked tamagoyaki - Japanese omelet we cooked to roll in the sushi rolls very much and I think she ate all the tagamoyaki that were rolled in her mom's sushi :)
And you know what ? The surprise gift didn't just end here.
Ta-da ! Kimono-try on !!
It looks very good on her and I am sure her husband fell in love with her
once again on their 1st wedding anniversary ;)
Thank you all for joining the class today. Cooking and dining with lovely people
really makes me happy !
